Buzzer does not Sound [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER (BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER) 
    1. Check that the rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) sounds when the initial check is performed.

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [11/2016 - ]

      OK

      Rear cross traffic alert buzzer sounds

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH) 
    1. Disconnect the M20 rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M20-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      M20-2 (BZN) - Body ground Below 1 V
      M20-2 (BZN) - M20-1 (BZP) Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK 

    See step  4

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH AND AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the M20 rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.
    2. Disconnect the L23 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M20-2 (BZN) - L23-3 (BUZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      M20-2 (BZN) or L23-3 (BUZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M20-2 (BZN) or L23-3 (BUZ) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      M20-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      M20-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power Switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
