DTC B15C3: Speaker Output Short [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F114 and F115 navigation receiver assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the G1 and G5 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Disconnect the J4 and K4 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F114-1 (FR+) or G1-4 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F114-5 (FR-) or G1-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F114-2 (FL+) or G5-4 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F114-6 (FL-) or G5-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F115-1 (RR+) or J4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F115-3 (RR-) J4-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F115-2 (RL+) or K4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F115-6 (RL-) or K4-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the H3 and I3 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the G1 and G5 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G1-3 (+) or H3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G1-1 (-) or H3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G5-3 (+) or I3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G5-1 (-) or I3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2014 - ]

      Result

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2016 - ]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

  6. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2014 - ]

    REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

  7. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F75 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F35 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Disconnect the I3 front No. 1 speaker assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the G3 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.
    5. Disconnect the J4 and K4 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    6. Disconnect the X23 and X5 rear No. 3 speaker assembly connectors.
    7. Disconnect the G2 and G6 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    8. Disconnect the X26 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    9. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F75-15 (FR+) or H3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-30 (FR-) or H3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-11 (FL+) or I3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Disconnect the G2 front No. 2 speaker assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F35-5 (SPO+) or G2-4 (TWR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F35-6 (SPO-) or G2-3 (TWR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  10. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F75 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the H3 and I3 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Disconnect the G3 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.
    4. Disconnect the J4 and K4 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    5. Disconnect the X23 and X5 rear No. 3 speaker assembly connectors.
    6. Disconnect the G2 and G6 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    7. Disconnect the X26 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F75-15 (FR+) or H3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-30 (FR-) or H3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-11 (FL+) or I3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-26 (FL-) or I3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F75-10 (CTR+) or G3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
