ACC Signal Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function)) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Power Source Control > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Power Source Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Smart Key System (for Start Function) DTCs are not output A
      Smart Key System (for Start Function) DTCs are output B

    Result:  2

    GO TO SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ACC SW Power switch on (ACC) signal ON or OFF ON: Power switch on (ACC)
      OFF: Power switch off
      "ON" is also displayed for this item when the power switch is on (IG).

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ACC SW

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2014 - ]  

    Result:  2

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the 4K instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4K-1 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  3

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4K-1 - MB-30 (ACC) Auxiliary battery not connected to 4A-28 and 4A-27 10 kΩ or higher
      4K-1 - MB-30 (ACC) Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 4A-28
      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 4A-27
      Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
