Back-up Light Circuit [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2014 - 11/2016]

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Hybrid control system DTCs are not output. A
      Hybrid control system DTCs are output. B

    Result:  2

    GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    See step  2

  2. INSPECT BACK UP LP RELAY 
    1. Remove the BACK UP LP Relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (BACK UP LP Relay)

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE BACK UP LP RELAY 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK UP LP RELAY POWER SOURCE AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 3 - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK UP LP RELAY - REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the X4 rear light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the X28 rear light assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 - X4-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - X28-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK UP LP RELAY - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the F15 power management control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 1 - F15-8 (BL) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
