Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the F58 steering sensor connector.

   *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Steering Sensor)

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F58-3 (CANH) - F58-2 (CANL)	Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal	54 to 69 Ω

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR) 

Result: 

OK

1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F58-1 (ESS) - Body ground	Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal	Below 1 Ω

2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F58-4 (IG1) - Body ground	Power switch on (IG)	11 to 14 V
   F58-5 (BAT) - Body ground	Power switch off	11 to 14 V

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

Result: 

NG
