Communication between Vehicle Proximity Notification System and Diagnostic Tool is not Possible [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Health Check.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Communication with the vehicle approaching speaker controller is not possible A
      Communication with the vehicle approaching speaker controller is possible B

    Result:  2

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - IG1 NO. 3 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the F17 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F17-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F17-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - DLC3) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F17-9 (PRST) - F25-7 (SIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      F17-9 (PRST) or F25-7 (SIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F25-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - IG1 NO. 3 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the 4D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F17-1 (IG) - 4D-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      F17-1 (IG) or 4D-16 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPAIR INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
