Inspection [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch (Warning Canceling Switch Assembly))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      11 (B) - 8 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch on (not protruding) Below 1 Ω
      11 (B) - 8 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch off (protruding) 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

    2. Check that the blind spot monitor indicator illuminates.
      1. Apply battery voltage to the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) connector and check operation of the blind spot monitor indicator, as shown in the table below.

        OK

        Connection Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 11 (B)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 12 (E)
        Blind spot monitor main switch on (not protruding) Blind spot monitor indicator illuminates
        Blind spot monitor main switch off (protruding) Blind spot monitor indicator does not illuminate

        If the result is not as specified, replace the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

    3. Check that the switch illuminates.
      1. Apply battery voltage to the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) and check that the switch illuminates.

        OK

        Connection Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 10 (ILL+)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 9 (ILL-)
        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).
