Disassembly [08/2013 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. HOW TO PREVENT STATIC ELECTRICITY 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to touch a grounded metal surface with your bare hands to discharge any static electricity before removing or installing the transmission floor shift assembly.
    • Do not touch the electronic components of a circuit board.
    • Keep clothes away from electronic components.
    • Place electronic components removed from the transmission floor shift assembly on SST (anti-static mat).
    1. Wear SST (wrist band).

      • SST: 09890-47010 
    2. Connect the ground clip of SST (anti-static mat) securely to a ground point provided in the workshop or on a workbench (anchor bolt).
      • SST: 09890-47010 

      HINT: 

      If the ground clip cable is too short, use an extension cable.

    3. Connect the ground clip of the antistatic wrist strap securely to the specified point of the antistatic mat.
  2. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly from the lower position indicator housing.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the lower position indicator housing.

  3. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT GUIDE 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the position indicator light guide from the lower position indicator housing.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the position indicator light guide and lower position indicator housing.

  4. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the position indicator slide cover from the lower position indicator housing.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER 
    1. Remove the No. 2 position indicator slide cover from the position indicator slide cover.

  6. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides.

      *a Guide
      *b Clamp
    3. Disengage the clamp to remove the indicator light wire sub-assembly from the shift lock control unit assembly.
    4. Disengage the claw to remove the clamp from the transmission control switch connector.

    5. Using a screwdriver, release the secondary lock.

      *a Secondary Lock
      *b Protective Tape

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    6. Put a mark on the wire for terminal 14.

    7. Using SST, release the locking lugs of terminals 7 and 14, and pull the wires and terminals out of the transmission control switch connector.
      • SST: 09991-00510 
    8. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the indicator light chip from the lower position indicator housing.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the indicator light chip.

  7. REMOVE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws to remove the lower position indicator housing from the shift lock control unit assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the shift lock control unit assembly.
