Removal [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]

  2. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 40 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 40

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR UNDER REAR REINFORCEMENT 

    See step  3

  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) 
    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Turn back the floor carpet.
    3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    4. Disengage the clamp and heated oxygen sensor grommet from the vehicle body.

      *a Grommet
    5. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.

    6. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.
    7. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) and exhaust manifold.
  8. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 drive shaft heat insulator sub-assemblies from the manifold stay.

  9. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.

  10. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.
