Open in Bus 2 Main Bus Line [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the D85 No. 2 CAN junction connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D127-18 (CA4H) - D127-17 (CA4L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Central Gateway ECU)

    Result: 

    NG

    OK

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (ECM) 
    1. Reconnect the D85 No. 2 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the A18 ECM connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A18-13 (CANH) - A18-26 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Reconnect the A18 ECM connector.
    2. Disconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.

      (to Combination Meter Assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D9-16 (CANH) - D9-15 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D73 and D72 No. 1 CAN junction connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *c to Combination Meter Assembly

      Standard Resistance

      HINT: 

      • Connectors that connect to the CAN junction connector can be distinguished by the color of their CAN bus lines.
      • Reconnecting the connectors to non-original positions on the CAN junction connector does not affect system performance. However, it is preferred to reconnect the connectors to their original positions to avoid negative effects on the wiring such as tension on the wire harnesses, and to make future maintenance easier.

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU) 
    1. Reconnect the D85 No. 2 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the D127 central gateway ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Central Gateway ECU)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D127-18 (CA4H) - D127-17 (CA4L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH BUS LINE CONNECTED TO CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU 

  6. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the D73 and D72 No. 1 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the D78 and D81 No. 2 CAN junction connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      • Connectors that connect to the CAN junction connector can be distinguished by the color of their CAN bus lines.
      • Reconnecting the connectors to non-original positions on the CAN junction connector does not affect system performance.
