DTC C1622: Back Camera Disconnected [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E28 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O18 rear television camera assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E28-11 (CA+) - O18-6 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E28-12 (V+) - O18-3 (CV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E28-24 (V-) - O18-2 (CV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E28-23 (CGND) - O18-5 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E28-11 (CA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E28-12 (V+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E28-24 (V-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E28-23 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY (CGND, CA+) 
    1. Reconnect the E28 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E28-23 (CGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E28-11 (CA+) - E28-23 (CGND) Engine switch on (ACC) 5.5 to 7.05 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY (V+, GND1) 
    1. Reconnect the O18 rear television camera assembly connector.
    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform of the rear television camera assembly.

      HINT: 

      A waterproof connector is used for the rear television camera assembly. Therefore, inspect the waveform at the navigation ECU sub-assembly with the connector connected.

      OK

      Waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

      Measurement terminal E28-12 (V+) - E17-7 (GND1)
      Measurement setting 200 mV/DIV., 50 μs./DIV.
      Condition Engine switch on (IG), shift lever in R

      HINT: 

      • The video waveform changes according to the image sent by the rear television camera assembly.
      • The video waveform is constantly output when the engine switch is on (ACC).
