DTC P17AA: Transfer Shift Motor Control Circuit High [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (TRANSFER SHIFT MOTOR AND A.D.D. SHIFT MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the F46 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY SIDE:

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F46-8 (TM1) or F46-7 (TM2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      A.D.D. ACTUATOR (DIFFERENTIAL VACUUM ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) SIDE:

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F46-2 (DM1) or F46-6 (DM2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to 4 Wheel Drive Control ECU)

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      NG (transfer shift actuator assembly side) B
      NG (A.D.D. actuator (differential vacuum actuator assembly) side) C

    Result: 

    REPLACE 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU AND TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F46 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

      (to Transfer Shift Actuator Assembly)
    2. Disconnect the B62 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F46-8 (TM1) or B62-2 (TM1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      F46-7 (TM2) or B62-1 (TM2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU AND A.D.D. ACTUATOR (DIFFERENTIAL VACUUM ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F46 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

      (to 4 Wheel Drive Control ECU)

      (to A.D.D. Actuator (Differential Vacuum Actuator Assembly))
    2. Disconnect the D1 A.D.D. actuator (differential vacuum actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F46-2 (DM1) or D1-1 (DM1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      F46-6 (DM2) or D1-2 (DM2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE A.D.D. ACTUATOR (DIFFERENTIAL VACUUM ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
