System Description [12/2012 - 10/2015]
- AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/Automatic Light Control System)
When the headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position, the automatic light control system detects ambient light levels and controls the headlights, taillights, front fog lights*, parking lights, side marker lights and license plate lights.

- LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM
The light auto turn-off system is used to prevent the exterior lights from being accidentally left on (headlights, taillights, parking lights, license plate lights and side marker lights).
This system has the following function.
Function Outline Delay Function (w/ Automatic Light Control System) The exterior lights automatically turn off after 30 seconds when all of the following conditions are met: - The low beam headlights are on (headlight dimmer switch is in AUTO position).
- The ignition switch is turned from ON to off.
- All doors (including back door) are closed after any of the doors (including back door) being open.
Battery Saving Function (w/o Automatic Light Control System) The exterior lights automatically turn off after 20 minutes when all of the following conditions are met: - The low beam headlights are on (headlight dimmer switch is in tail or head position).
- The ignition switch is turned from ON to off.
- One or more doors is in the opened state.
- DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM
- The daytime running light system is designed to automatically illuminate the headlights (dimmed high beam head lights), during the daytime to make the car more visible to other vehicles.
- The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls this system.
- This system is enabled when the conditions below are met:
- The ignition switch is ON.
- An engine speed signal is input (the engine is running).
- Parking brake is released.
- Headlight dimmer switch not in the DRL OFF position. (w/ DRL OFF switch)
- Headlight dimmer switch is in the off (w/o DRL OFF Switch) or AUTO (w/ Automatic Light Control System) position (and the low beam headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control system).
- The daytime running light system is designed to automatically illuminate the headlights (dimmed high beam head lights), during the daytime to make the car more visible to other vehicles.
- LANE CHANGE FLASHER SYSTEM
- When moving the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch) during a lane change, the turn signal light flashes a specified number of times.
- While the turn signal light is flashing after the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) is moved to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch), the turn signal light turns off if the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) is moved in the opposite direction.
- The combination meter controls this system.
