Tachometer Malfunction [12/2012 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output.
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2012 - 11/2013] .
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2013 - 10/2015] .
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2015 - 08/2016] .
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - ] .
Result Proceed to CAN communication system DTC is not output CAN communication system DTC is output
Result:
CAN communication system DTC is output
GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM:
Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 10/2015] or HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - ] .
Result:
CAN communication system DTC is not output

- Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output.
- CHECK SFI SYSTEM
- Check if a SFI system DTC is output.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2012 - ] .
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes
Result Proceed to SFI system DTC is not output SFI system DTC is output
Result:
SFI system DTC is output
GO TO SFI SYSTEM.

SFI system DTC is not output

- Check if a SFI system DTC is output.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TACHOMETER OPERATION)
- Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

- Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or normally functioning one.

- Check the tachometer operation.

The operation of the tachometer returns to normal.
