DTC B1504: Lost Communication with Steering SW [12/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

   OK

   Steering pad switch assembly condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

OK → See step   6 

1. Check the spiral cable. Refer to INSPECTION [12/2014 - ] .

NG → See step   7 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the G1 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the z2 steering pad switch RH connector.
3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   z2-2 (IG) - Body ground	Ignition switch off	Below 1 V
   z2-2 (IG) - Body ground	Ignition switch ON (IG)	11 to 14 V

4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   z2-7 (DISP) - G1-30 (MSFM)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G1-30 (MSFM) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Replace the steering pad switch RH with a new or a known good one. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2014 - ]

   OK

   The operation of the combination meter assembly returns to normal.

NG → See step   5 

OK → END 

1. Replace the steering pad switch LH with a new or a known good one. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2014 - ] .

   OK

   The operation of the combination meter assembly returns to normal.

NG → See step   6
