DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High [12/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Check the vehicle condition.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      w/ Smart Key System A
      w/o Smart Key System B

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      P2532-772 only is output. A
      DTCs except P2532-772 are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: CAN Bus Check.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A
      None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. B
    4. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   25 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT) 
    1. Disconnect connector A38 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A38-3 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch off 1 V or less

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

      Result

    3. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    B → See step   18 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2014 - ]

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect connector A38 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and No. 2 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A38-3 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch off 1 V or less
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    4. Install the No. 1 integration relay.
    5. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2014 - ]

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   18 

  8. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P2532-772 is output or P2532-772 and DTCs other than U0140-146 are also output. A
      U0140-146 is output. B
      DTCs other than P2532-772 or U0140-146 are output. C
      No DTCs are output. D
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    A: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK FUSE (ECU-IG NO. 1, ECU-IG NO. 2, AM1) 
    1. Remove the ECU-IG NO. 1 fuse, ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse and AM1 fuse from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ECU-IG NO. 1 fuse terminal Always Below 1 Ω
      ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse terminal Always Below 1 Ω
      AM1 fuse terminal Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Instrument panel junction block assembly
      *2 ECU-IG NO. 1 fuse
      *3 ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse
      *4 AM1 fuse
    3. Install the ECU-IG NO. 1 fuse, ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse and AM1 fuse.

    NG → REPLACE FUSE (ECU-IG NO. 1, ECU-IG NO. 2, AM1) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1 NO. 1 RELAY POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect connector 3E from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3E-1 - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      (to Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    3. Connect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1 NO. 1 RELAY BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect connector 3B from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3B-8 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

    3. Connect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   23 

  13. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off and leave the vehicle as it is for 10 seconds or more.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P2532-772 is output. A
      No DTC is output. B
    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

    B → See step   24 

    A: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT) 
    1. Disconnect connector A38 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    3. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect connector A38 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and No. 2 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A38-3 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

    4. Install the No. 1 integration relay.
    5. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2014 - ]

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the connector G15 from the ignition or starter switch assembly.
    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and No. 2 junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G15-6 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

    4. Install the No. 1 integration relay.
    5. Connect the ignition or starter switch assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   21 

  18. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  19. REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  20. GO TO DTC CHART (U0140-146). Refer to  DTC U0100-530: Lost Communication with ECM / PCM "A"; DTC U0129-527: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-528: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0140-146: Communication Error from Body ECU to HV ECU; DTC U0151-763: Communication Error from Airbag ECU to HV ECU; DTC U0164-827: Communication Error from A/C ECU to HV ECU; DTC U1107-436: Lost Communication with Power Management Module [12/2014 - ]  
  21. REPLACE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  22. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2014 - ] 
  23. REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  24. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2014 - ] 
  25. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2014 - ]
