Pattern Select Switch Eco Mode Circuit [12/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) See step   2 

    B → See step   11 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) See step   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE [12/2014 - ]  . 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INDICAT. ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO Mode.
    4. Perform the "Indicat. ECO MODE" Active Test.

      OK

      The ECO mode indicator light comes on or blinks.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / ECO Mode.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Mode ECO drive mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In ECO drive mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) operation. A

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioning / Data List / ECO Switch.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Switch ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) condition/
      ON or OFF
      ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) being pushed and held: ON
      ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) not pushed: OFF

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

  6. INSPECT ECO MODE SWITCH (ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly). Refer to COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G62-9 (ECU) - G62-6 (E) ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (ECO Mode Switch (Eco Switch Assembly))
    3. Install the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly).

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO MODE SWITCH (ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect connector G62 from the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G62-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECO Mode Switch (Eco Switch Assembly))
    3. Connect the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - ECO MODE SWITCH (ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect connector G34 from the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
    2. Disconnect connector G62 from the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-4 (ECOS) - G62-9 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-4 (ECOS) or G62-9 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECO Mode Switch (Eco Switch Assembly))
    4. Connect the ECO mode switch (eco switch assembly) connector.
    5. Connect the air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   13 

  9. REPLACE ECO MODE SWITCH (ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  10. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2014 - ] 
  11. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2014 - ] 
  12. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  13. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ]
