DTC P0705-757: Transmission Range Sensor Circuit [12/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SHIFT POSITION) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Shift Sensor SW - P, Shift Sensor SW - R, Shift Sensor SW - N, Shift Sensor SW - DB1, Shift Sensor SW - DB2, Shift Sensor SW - PR, Shift Sensor SW - PNB.
    4. While slowly moving the shift lever from P to B, then back to P, read the Data List (shift position) displayed on the Techstream.

      HINT: 

      Be sure to move the shift lever slowly.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check if DTCs are output.

      OK

      DTC P0705-757 is not output.

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2014 - ]

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   6 

  3. CHECK SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   6 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C23-7 (+B) - Body ground Ignition switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Shift Lever Position Sensor)
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON (IG) with the shift lever position sensor connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Connect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      Terminal No. 5 on the component side connector is empty.

    3. Connect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ] 
  7. REPLACE SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2014 - ]
