DTC C2179/79: Tire Pressure Monitor ECU Communication Stop [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the M25 tire pressure warning ECU and receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the F19 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M25-5 (PRG) - F19-5 (PRG) Always Below 1 Ω
      M25-5 (PRG) or F19-5 (PRG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK 

    See step  2

  2. REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER 
    1. Replace the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    Result: 

    NEXT

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2013 - ]

      Chassis > Tire Pressure Monitor > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2013 - ]

      Chassis > Tire Pressure Monitor > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC C2179/79 is not output.

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU).
