ECM Power Source Circuit [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU)

    *1 No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  3

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU) 

    Result:  1

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1D-14 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. INSPECT SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU (EFI MAIN RELAY, IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Inspect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU (EFI MAIN relay, IG2 relay).

      Refer to INSPECTION [02/2014 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1G-4 - A43-6 (IGSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-6 - A43-46 (MREL) Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-1 - A43-2 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-2 - A43-3 (+B2) Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-4 or A43-6 (IGSW) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-6 or A43-46 (MREL) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-1 or A43-2 (+B) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-2 or A43-3 (+B2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-53 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

  6. INSPECT ECM (IGSW VOLTAGE)

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to ECM)
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-6 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2016 - ]

    NG

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F9-3 (IG1D) - 1E-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F9-3 (IG1D) or 1E-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    GO TO SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2014 - ]
