DTC P2756-14: Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Short to Ground or Open [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE (SOLENOID (SLU) VALVE) - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the C1 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-76 (SLU+) - C1-61 (SLU-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      C1-76 (SLU+) or C1-61 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    See step  2

  2. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:  1

    NEXT 

    PERFORM REGISTRATION. Refer to  REGISTRATION [11/2016 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the C92 transmission wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the C1 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C92-5 (SLU+) - C1-76 (SLU+) Always Below 1 Ω
      C92-4 (SLU-) - C1-61 (SLU-) Always Below 1 Ω
      C92-5 (SLU+) or C1-76 (SLU+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C92-4 (SLU-) or C1-61 (SLU-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. INSPECT SOLENOID (SLU) VALVE 
    1. Remove the solenoid (SLU) valve.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Solenoid (SLU) Valve)

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2016 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid (SLU) valve connector terminal 1 - terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery with a 21 W bulb to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the solenoid valve connector. Check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

      OK

      Valve moves and makes operating sound.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ]

    REPLACE SOLENOID (SLU) VALVE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ]
