DTC P2118: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Current Range / Performance [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (+BM VOLTAGE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Gas Throttle / +BM Voltage.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List 

      Tester Display
      +BM Voltage
    5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Result Proceed to
      Less than 4 V A
      11 to 14 V B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2013 - ]  .

    Result: 

    Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY, BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-29 (+BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-58 (ME01) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C1-16 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]  .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
