DTC P0712: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Low Input; DTC P0713: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit High Input [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E26-120 (THO1) - E26-119 (ETHO) Always 79 Ω to 156 kΩ
      E26-120 (THO1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E26-119 (ETHO) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to ECM)

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      NG B

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the wiring harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E26-120 (THO1) - E8-13 (OIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E26-119 (ETHO) - E8-12 (E2) Always Below 1 Ω
      E26-120 (THO1) or E8-13 (OIL) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E26-119 (ETHO) or E8-12 (E2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 
    1. Remove the wiring harness connector from the transaxle.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Wire)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-17 (E2) - A-18 (THO1) Always 79 Ω to 156 kΩ
      A-17 (E2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A-18 (THO1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT: 

      If the resistance is out of the specified range with the ATF temperature shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease.

      ATF Temperature Specified Condition
      10°C (50°F) 5 to 8 kΩ
      25°C (77°F) 2.5 to 4.5 kΩ
      110°C (230°F) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ

  4. REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR). Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 
  5. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 
  6. REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ] 
  7. REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2014 - ]
