DTC B1570: Manual (SOS) Switch Red Indicator Malfunction [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs (Refer to HEALTH CHECK [10/2014 - ] ).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1570, B1571 and B15C5 are output A
      DTC B1570 is output
      (DTC B1571 and B15C5 are not output)

  2. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the N6 roof console box assembly connector.

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal N6-19 (IND1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal N6-16 (GND3) of the roof console box assembly connector.
    4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch red indicator comes on.

      OK

      Red indicator comes on.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E11 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the N6 roof console box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E11-26 (SIG-) - N6-16 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      E11-26 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E11-11 (IND1) - N6-19 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      E11-11 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).
      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    Result:

  5. PERFORM PRL UPDATE 
    1. Perform "PRL UPDATE" (Refer to PRL UPDATE [10/2014 - ] ).

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION 

    (Refer to DCM ACTIVATION [10/2014 - ] )

  6. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH RED INDICATOR CONDITION) 
    1. Confirm the red indicator status after the engine switch is turned on (IG) (Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [10/2014 - ] ).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Red indicator remains off. A
      Red indicator remains on. B

  7. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the roof console box assembly but do not disconnect the connectors (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal N6-19 (IND1), and the negative lead to terminal N6-16 (GND3).
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the engine switch is off.

    Result:

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (RED INDICATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal E11-11 (IND1), and the negative lead to body ground.
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the engine switch is off.

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E11-11 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  10. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).
      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    Result:
