Check Bus 5 Line for Short to +B [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.
        Proceed to
      for Models with Blind Spot Monitor System or Parking Assist Monitor System A
      for Models without Blind Spot Monitor System and Parking Assist Monitor System B

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the D131 No. 6 CAN junction connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D127 central gateway ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU) 

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (ECU, SENSOR) 
    1. Reconnect all wire harness connectors.
    2. Disconnect the ECU or sensor connected to the CAN bus line that is shorted to +B.

      HINT: 

      If the ECU or sensor has multiple connectors, disconnect the connector that includes the CAN bus lines. To determine the ECU or sensor that is connected to the shorted bus line:

      Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [10/2015 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      If the resistance changes to 6 kΩ or higher when the connector is disconnected from the ECU or sensor, there may be a short in the ECU or sensor.

    REPLACE CORRESPONDING ECU OR SENSOR

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CORRESPONDING ECU OR SENSOR BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the D131 No. 6 CAN junction connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN CAN BUS LINE (ECU, SENSOR) 
    1. Reconnect all wire harness connectors.
    2. Disconnect the ECU or sensor connected to the CAN bus line that is shorted to +B.

      HINT: 

      If the ECU or sensor has multiple connectors, disconnect the connector that includes the CAN bus lines. To determine the ECU or sensor that is connected to the shorted bus line:

      Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [10/2015 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
