Brake Actuator (Skid Control ECU) Communication Stop Mode [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))
    2. Disconnect the A30 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-26 (CANH) - A30-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-38 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      A30-13 (GND2) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-25 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A30-1 (+BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A30-28 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Skid Control ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
