Removal [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  2. LOOSEN FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT 
    1. Loosen the front support to front shock absorber nut.

      NOTE:
      • Do not remove the front support to front shock absorber nut.
      • Loosen the front support to front shock absorber nut only when the front shock absorber with coil spring needs to be disassembled.
  3. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the clamp to separate the front speed sensor and front flexible hose from the front shock absorber assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be sure to separate the front speed sensor from the front shock absorber assembly completely.

  4. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and separate the front stabilizer link assembly from the front shock absorber assembly.

      HINT: 

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a wrench to hold the stud bolt.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING 
    1. Support the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly using a jack and wooden block.

      Front of the Vehicle - -
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the front shock absorber with coil spring (lower side) from the steering knuckle.

      NOTE:

      When removing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and front shock absorber with coil spring.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the front speed sensor is completely separated from the front shock absorber with coil spring.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT 
    1. Secure SST in a vise.

      • SST: 09727-30021 
        1. 09727-00010
        2. 09727-00021
        3. 09727-00031
    2. Attach the arms of SST to the diameter of the front coil spring.

      WARNING:
      • Make sure that the front coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower arms of SST is at the maximum.
      • Make sure that the claws of the arms are securely attached.
    3. Using SST, compress the front coil spring.
      WARNING:
      • If the front coil spring bends during compression, immediately stop compression and reinstall SST.
      • Do not excessively compress the front coil spring so that the coils contact each other.
      • Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.
    4. Confirm that the front coil spring is free and remove the front support to front shock absorber nut.

      WARNING:

      Do not remove the front support to front shock absorber nut when the front coil spring is not free.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  8. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT BEARING 
  9. REMOVE FRONT UPPER COIL SPRING SEAT 
  10. REMOVE FRONT UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR (Shock Absorber Type A) 
    1. Remove the front upper coil spring insulator from the front shock absorber assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR (Shock Absorber Type B) 
    1. Disengage the front upper coil spring insulator from the claws of the front shock absorber assembly.

    2. Remove the front upper coil spring insulator from the front shock absorber assembly.
  12. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING 
  13. REMOVE FRONT SPRING BUMPER 
  14. REMOVE FRONT LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR 
  15. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
