Removal [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 10/2015] ).
NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - ] ).
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
(Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] )
- REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
NOTE:When removing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.
- Check that the power switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Airbag Connector *2 Airbag Connector Lock *a Protective Tape NOTE:When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Using a clip remover, remove the pin.
HINT:
Perform the same procedure for the other pins.
TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Pin *2 Claw - Using the 2 screwdrivers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip from the body panel as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Perform the same procedure for the other clips.
- While holding the curtain shield airbag assembly, remove the bolt and disengage the 4 clips.
- Disengage the hook (A).
- Disengage the 3 hooks as shown in the illustration to remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.
- Remove the 5 clips and spacer from the curtain shield airbag assembly.
