Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] or REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 and PROCEDURE - Step 4

  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 and PROCEDURE - Step 5

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  6. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  8. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  9. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  10. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 46

  11. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 33 and PROCEDURE - Step 33

  12. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37 and PROCEDURE - Step 37

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 and PROCEDURE - Step 39

  15. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Turn back the carpet.
    4. Disconnect the connectors from the airbag ECU assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Remove the 3 bolts and airbag ECU assembly.
