Pattern Select Switch Eco Mode Circuit [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2014 - 10/2015] )

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

    GO TO APPLICABLE DTC CHART

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INDICAT. ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO MODE.
    4. Perform the "Indicat. Sport ECO MODE" Active Test.

      OK

      The ECO MODE indicator light comes on or blinks.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to COMPONENTS [10/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result: 

    OK

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / ECO Mode.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Mode ECO mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF      		 In ECO mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) operation. A

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioning / Data List / ECO Switch.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Switch ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) condition/
      ON or OFF      		 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) being pushed and held: ON
      ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) not pushed: OFF

  6. INSPECT ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) (Refer to COMPONENTS [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (ECU) - 3 (E) ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (ECO Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
    3. Install the ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 

    (Refer to COMPONENTS [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D107 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D107-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to EV Drive Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
    3. Reconnect the D107 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - ECO MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the D62 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D107 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D62-4 (ECOS) - D107-2 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      D62-4 (ECOS) or D107-2 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to ECO Mode Switch (Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Reconnect the D107 ECO mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    5. Reconnect the D62 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to COMPONENTS [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
