DTC B14B2: Lost Communication with Front Panel LIN [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the D44 air conditioning control assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D44-1 (B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      D44-9 (IG+) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V
      D44-9 (IG+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D44-2 (ACC) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V
      D44-2 (ACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D44-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D62 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D44-3 (LIN1) - D62-37 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      D44-3 (LIN1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the air conditioning control assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

      HINT: 

      Since the air conditioning control assembly cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the air conditioning control assembly with a new or known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

      OK

      Air conditioning control assembly operation returns to normal.

      Result

      NG (When troubleshooting according to the DTC) C

    Result: 

    END (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2014 - 10/2015] or PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )
