DTC B1475/75: A/C Inverter Cooling / Heating System Malfunction [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTCs are not output A
      CAN DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2014 - 10/2015] )

    Result:

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.
    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.
      ENGINE AND ECT

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Control the Electric Cooling Fan Control electric cooling fan motor ON/OFF Perform this test when the following conditions are met:
      • Power switch is on (IG).
      • Engine is stopped.
      • Shift lever in P.

      OK

      Electric cooling fan operates smoothly.

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO COOLING FAN SYSTEM 

    (Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK REFRIGERANT PRESSURE 
    1. Install a manifold gauge set (Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Read the manifold gauge pressure when the following conditions are established.

      1. Prepare the vehicle according to the chart below.
        Item Condition
        Vehicle Doors All fully open
        Temperature Setting MAX COLD
        Blower Speed HI
        A/C Switch On
        Recirculation/fresh Switch Recirculation
        (30 to 35°C (86 to 95°F))

        Standard Pressure

        Low pressure side 

        150 to 250 kPa (1.5 to 2.5 kgf/cm2 , 22 to 36 psi)

        High pressure side 

        1370 to 1570 kPa (14.0 to 16.0 kgf/cm2 , 199 to 228 psi)

    Result: 

    NG 

    CHARGE REFRIGERANT 

    (Refer to REPLACEMENT [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  4. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC B1475/75) 
    1. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Prepare the vehicle according to the table below.
      Item Condition
      Blower speed HI
      A/C switch On
      Temperature setting MAX COLD
    4. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - ] ).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1475/75 is not output (normal) A
      DTC B1475/75 is output B
      NOTE:

      If the engine keeps idling when ambient temperature is high, the compressor may automatically stop to protect the inverter circuit, and DTC B1475/75 may be stored.

    Result: 

    SYSTEM IS OK 

    Result: 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
