Rear Air Conditioning Control Panel Circuit [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - IG POWER SOURCE, BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M1 No. 2 air conditioning control assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-7 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      M1-7 (IG) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-10 (S5) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 4.75 to 5.25 V
      M1-10 (S5) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

    Result: 

    NG

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D62 and D63 air conditioning amplifier assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-9 (ATIN) - D62-3 (IND) Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-8 (SWD) - D62-24 (SW1) Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-11 (TSET) - D63-2 (TSET) Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-4 (SG) - D63-7 (SG-5) Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-9 (ATIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M1-8 (SWD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M1-11 (TSET) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M1-4 (SG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the No. 2 air conditioning control assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

      HINT: 

      Since the No. 2 air conditioning control assembly cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the No. 2 air conditioning control assembly with a new or known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

      OK

      No. 2 air conditioning control assembly operation returns to normal.

    END (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2014 - 10/2015] or PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - ] )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D63 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-10 (S5) - D63-9 (S5-2) Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-10 (S5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
