Engine Hood Courtesy Switch Circuit [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
   MAIN BODY

   Hood Courtesy SW	Engine hood courtesy switch/ON or OFF	ON: Engine hood open OFF: Engine hood closed	-

   OK

   The indicator on the Techstream switches between ON and OFF in accordance with the engine hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) status.

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

(Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] or REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

Result: 

NG

1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] or REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] ).

2. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   3D-24 - MB-20 (HCTY)	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] or REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the hood lock assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 2	Opened	10 kΩ or higher
   1 - 2	Locked	Below 1 Ω

   A2-2 (+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   3D-24 - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   A2-1 (E) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
