DTC B15D3: Stereo Component Amplifier Disconnected [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC
    1. If DTC B15C3 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC B15C3 first.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
DTC B15C3 is not output. A
      DTC B15C3 is output. B

    Result:

    GO TO DTC B15C3

    (Refer to DTC B15C3: Speaker Output Short [10/2014 - ] )

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
Optional components (including associated wiring) are installed. A
Optional components (including associated wiring) are not installed. B

      HINT:

      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    Result:

    See step  4

    Result:

    See step  3

  3. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  4

  4. CHECK DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    Result:

    OK

    END

    Result:

    NG

    See step  5

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)
    1. Disconnect the E9 and E10 stereo component amplifier assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E9-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E9-18 (GND2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E9-1 (+B) - E9-3 (GND) Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      E9-16 (+B2) - E9-3 (GND) Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      E10-12 (ACC) - E9-3 (GND) Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  6

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)
    1. Disconnect the I8 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E10 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I8-7 (TX1+) - E10-8 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-8 (TX1-) - E10-7 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
I8-7 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
I8-8 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  7

  7. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
    1. Replace the stereo component amplifier assembly with a new or known good one (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - ] ).
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    Result:

    OK

    END

    Result:

    NG

    REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY
