Sound Signal Circuit between Navigation Receiver Assembly and Stereo Component Amplifier [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I6 and I7 navigation ECU sub-assembly connectors (for 9 Speakers).
    2. Disconnect the I6 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector (for 11 Speakers).
    3. Disconnect the E8 stereo component amplifier assembly connector (for 9 Speakers).
    4. Disconnect the E9 stereo component amplifier assembly connector (for 11 Speakers).
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR 9 SPEAKERS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I6-1 (FR+) - E8-2 (FR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-5 (FR-) - E8-7 (FR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-2 (FL+) - E8-1 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-6 (FL-) - E8-6 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-1 (RR+) - E8-9 (RR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-3 (RR-) - E8-10 (RR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-2 (RL+) - E8-3 (RL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-6 (RL-) - E8-8 (RL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I6-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I6-2 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I6-6 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-1 (RR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-3 (RR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-2 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-6 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR 11 SPEAKERS

      I6-1 (FR+) - E9-5 (R+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-5 (FR-) - E9-4 (R-) Always Below 1 Ω

      E9-6 (SLD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E9-5 (R+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E9-4 (R-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E9-3 (L+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E9-2 (L-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I6 and I7 navigation ECU sub-assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the E8 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I6-2 (FL+) - E8-1 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-6 (FL-) - E8-6 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-1 (RR+) - E8-9 (RR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-3 (RR-) - E8-10 (RR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-2 (RL+) - E8-3 (RL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I7-6 (RL-) - E8-8 (RL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-2 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I6-6 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-1 (RR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-3 (RR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-2 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I7-6 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I6 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I135 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I6-1 (FR+) - I135-2 (SPI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-5 (FR-) - I135-3 (SPI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I6-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I6-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E8 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I135 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E8-2 (FR+) - I135-5 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E8-7 (FR-) - I135-6 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E8-2 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E8-7 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SPI+) - 5 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (SPI-) - 6 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI+) - 3 (SPI-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (SPO+) - 6 (SPO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (SPI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SPI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
