On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 
    1. Disconnect the A22 stop light switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-7 (B) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Reconnect the A22 stop light switch assembly connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-1 (OUT) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal not depressed Below 1 V
      A22-1 (OUT) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      A22-3 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal not depressed Below 1 V
      A22-4 (ACC) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      A22-3 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 
    1. Disconnect the A63 stop light switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-1 (B) - A63-3 (GND) Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (to Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Reconnect the A63 stop light switch assembly connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A63-2 (OUT) - A63-3 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal not depressed Below 1 V
      A63-2 (OUT) - A63-3 (GND) Power switch off, brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light switch assembly.
