Navigation ECU Communication Stop Mode [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the E20 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E20-9 (CANH) - E20-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Navigation ECU Sub-assembly)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the E17 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E17-7 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E17-3 (ACC1) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      E17-4 (+B1) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      E20-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (to Navigation ECU Sub-assembly)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
