Removal [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2012 - ] .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - ] .

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  4. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR 
  6. REMOVE BATTERY 
  7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 
  8. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  11. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    See step  3

  12. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER 
    1. Slide the 4 clips and remove the oil cooler inlet hose and oil cooler outlet hose.

      *A w/ Water Cooler *B w/o Water Cooler
      *1 Oil Cooler Inlet Hose *2 Oil Cooler Outlet Hose
    2. Detach the 3 clamps from the No. 8 water by-pass hose and No. 9 water by-pass hose.

      *1 No. 8 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 9 Water By-pass Hose
    3. Slide the 4 clips and remove the No. 8 water by-pass hose and No. 9 water by-pass hose.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and transmission oil cooler from the front engine mounting bracket.
