Operation Check [12/2012 - 10/2015]

  1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.

      Brake warning light Ignition switch off → ON Comes on for 3 seconds
      Engine coolant temperature warning light
      Slip indicator light
      VSC OFF indicator light
      TRAC OFF indicator light*1
      ABS warning light

      BSM indicator light*4
      Automatic high beam indicator light*5
      Eco driving indicator light
      MAINT REQD indicator light*6
      AWD warning light*1 Ignition switch off → ON Comes on for 4 seconds
      AWD lock indicator light*1
      SRS warning light Ignition switch off → ON Comes on for 6 seconds
      Charge warning light Ignition switch off → ON
      • Illuminates when ignition switch turned ON
      • Turns off when engine started
      Engine oil presshure warning light
      A/T OIL TEMP warning light
      EPS warning light
      MIL
      1. *1: for AWD
      2. *2: w/ Tire Pressure Warning System
      3. *3: for 2WD
      4. *4: w/ Blind Spot Monitor System
      5. *5: w/ Automatic High Beam System
      6. *6: for U.S.A.
  2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Speed
      FOR MPH

      Standard Indication Acceptable Range
      20 mph 20 to 23 mph
      40 mph 40 to 43.5 mph
      60 mph 60 to 64 mph
      80 mph 80 to 84.5 mph
      100 mph 100 to 105 mph
      120 mph 120 to 125.5 mph
      140 mph 140 to 146 mph
      FOR KM/H (FOR CANADA)

      20 km/h 17.5 to 21.5 km/h
      40 km/h 38 to 42 km/h
      60 km/h 58 to 63 km/h

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      NOTE:

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

      Reference

      Within 0.3°

  3. INSPECT TACHOMETER 
    1. Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.
    2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.
      DC 13.5 V AT 25°C (77°F)

      700 670 to 810
      1000 (957 to 1157)
      2000 (1964 to 2264)
      3000 2971 to 3371
      4000 (4028 to 4428)
      5000 5085 to 5485
      6000 (6091 to 6591)
      7000 7098 to 7698
      8000 (8155 to 8755)

      If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

  4. INSPECT METER/GAUGE 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2012 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.

  5. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2012 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      Each warning/indicator light can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

  6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2012 - 10/2015] ).

      OK

      All dots in the multi-information display can be turned on and off using the Techstream.
