DTC THC_d0001: Powertrain Coolant Inlet Temp Sensor Malfunction [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR DRIVE UNIT) 
    1. Inspect the coolant temperature sensor (for drive unit). Refer to INSPECTION [09/2013 - ] .

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR DRIVE UNIT) - THERMAL CONTROL ECU)

    1. Disconnect connector D12 from the coolant temperature sensor (for drive unit) connector.

    2. Disconnect connector L32 from the thermal control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D12-1 (PTT) - L32-10 (PTT) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      D12-2 (PTTG) - L32-20 (PTTG) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      D12-1 (PTT) or L32-10 (PTT) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 1 kΩ or higher
      D12-2 (PTTG) or L32-20 (PTTG) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 1 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Coolant Temperature Sensor (for Drive Unit))
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Thermal Control ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR DRIVE UNIT). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] 
  4. REPLACE THERMAL CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]
