DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Leave the vehicle for 15 seconds or more with the power switch on (IG) after clearing DTCs.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 15 seconds or more is required to detect DTC U0140-146.

    2. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    3. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      U0140-146 is not output but P2532-772 is output. A
      U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. B
      Only DTCs other than U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. C
      No DTC is output. D
    4. Turn the power switch off.

    D → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FUSE (ECU-IG1 1) 
    1. Remove the ECU-IG1 1 fuse from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      ECU-IG1 1 fuse terminals Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Main Body ECU (Instrument Panel Junction Block)
      *2 ECU-IG1 1 Fuse
    3. Install the ECU-IG1 1 fuse.

    NG → CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)) 
    1. Disconnect connector IG from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      IG-1 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      (to Main Body ECU (Instrument Panel Junction Block))
    3. Connect the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect connector IE from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      IE-12 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      (to Main Body ECU (Instrument Panel Junction Block))
    3. Connect the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 

  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Leave the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more is required to detect DTC P2532-772.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P2532-772 is output. A
      P2532-772 is not output. B
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   14 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect connector A57 from the power management control ECU.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A57-1 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      (to Power Management Control ECU)
    4. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → See step   11 

  8. CHECK INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Motor Compartment Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly
      *2 Integration Relay
    2. Disconnect connector A57 from the power management control ECU.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A57-1 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      (to Power Management Control ECU)
    4. Install the integration relay.
    5. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1C-1 - 1B-4 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1B-3 and 1B-2. 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage is applied between terminals 1B-3 and 1B-2. Below 1 Ω

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Integration Relay)
    3. Install the integration relay.

    NG → REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - INTEGRATION RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect connector E16 from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

    2. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1B-2 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      *1 No. 1 Motor Compartment Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly

    4. Connect the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connector.
    5. Install the integration relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 

  11. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] 
  12. GO TO DTC CHART (U0140-146). Refer to  DTC U0129-527: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-528: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0140-146: Lost Communication with Body Control Module; DTC U0151-763: Lost Communication with Restraints Control Module; DTC U0164-827: Lost Communication with HVAC Control Module; DTC U1146-480: Lost Communication with Electric Propulsion Control System Gateway [09/2013 - ]  
  13. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2013 - ] 
  14. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [09/2013 - ]
