ECU Power Source Circuit [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU (+B1, +B2 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A57-5 (+B1) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A56-2 (+B2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Power Management Control ECU)
    3. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect connectors E117 and E118 from the power management control ECU.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E117-5 (E01) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E117-6 (E1) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E118-4 (E12) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      E118-5 (E02) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      (to Power Management Control ECU)
    3. Connect the power management control ECU connectors.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   20 

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU (MREL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A57-6 (MREL) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → See step   21 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FUSE (PM-IGCT) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      PM-IGCT fuse terminals Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 No. 1 Motor Compartment Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly
      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
    3. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.

    NG → See step   14 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FUSE (IGCT 3) 
    1. Remove the IGCT 3 fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IGCT 3 fuse terminals Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 No. 1 Motor Compartment Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly
      *2 IGCT 3 Fuse
    3. Install the IGCT 3 fuse.

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FUSE (IGCT-D) 
    1. Remove the IGCT-D fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IGCT-D fuse terminals Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 No. 1 Motor Compartment Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly
      *2 IGCT-D Fuse
    3. Install the IGCT-D fuse.

    NG → See step   16 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT RELAY (IGCT 3) 
    1. Remove the IGCT 3 relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      *1 IGCT 3 Relay
    3. Install the IGCT 3 relay.

    NG → REPLACE RELAY (IGCT 3) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT INTEGRATION RELAY (IGCT-D) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1C-1 - 1A-4 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1A-2 and 1A-3. 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage is applied between terminals 1A-2 and 1A-3. Below 1 Ω

      (Integration Relay)
    3. Install the integration relay.

    NG → REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY (IGCT-D) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - PM-IGCT FUSE) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

      *2 PM-IGCT Fuse
    2. Disconnect connectors A56 and A57 from the power management control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.
    5. Connect the power management control ECU connectors.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT 3 RELAY - PM-IGCT FUSE) 
    1. Remove the IGCT 3 and PM-IGCT fuses from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

      *2 IGCT 3 Fuse
      *3 PM-IGCT Fuse
    2. Remove the IGCT 3 relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (IGCT 3 relay) - 2 (IGCT 3 fuse) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      3 (IGCT 3 relay) - 1 (PM-IGCT fuse) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      *3 PM-IGCT Fuse
      *4 IGCT 3 Relay
    4. Install the IGCT 3 and PM-IGCT fuses.
    5. Install the IGCT 3 relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT 3 RELAY - INTEGRATION RELAY) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    2. Remove the IGCT 3 relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1A-4 - 2 (IGCT 3 relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

    4. Install the integration relay.
    5. Install the IGCT 3 relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - INTEGRATION RELAY) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    2. Disconnect connector A57 from the power management control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A57-6 (MREL) - 1A-2 Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A57-6 (MREL) or 1A-2 - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Install the integration relay.
    5. Connect the power management control ECU connectors.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT 3 RELAY, INTEGRATION RELAY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the IGCT 3 relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    2. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 (IGCT 3 relay) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      1A-3 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω

    4. Install the integration relay.
    5. Install the IGCT 3 relay.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (NO. 1 MOTOR COMPARTMENT ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - NO. 1 MOTOR COMPARTMENT ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - PM-IGCT FUSE) 
    1. Remove the PM-IGCT fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect connectors A56 and A57 from the power management control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Install the PM-IGCT fuse.
    5. Connect the power management control ECU connectors.

    NG → See step   17 

    OK → REPLACE FUSE (PM-IGCT) 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT 3 FUSE - PM-IGCT FUSE) 
    1. Remove the IGCT 3 fuse, PM-IGCT fuse, A/C-IGCT fuse, FAN-IGCT fuse and P CNT-IGCT fuse from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      5 (IGCT 3 relay) or 2 (IGCT 3 fuse) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (IGCT 3 relay) or 1 (PM-IGCT fuse) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Install the IGCT 3 fuse, PM-IGCT fuse, A/C-IGCT fuse, FAN-IGCT fuse and P CNT-IGCT fuse.
    5. Install the IGCT 3 relay.

    OK → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT 3) 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT 3 RELAY - INTEGRATION RELAY) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    2. Remove the IGCT 3 relay from the No. 1 motor compartment room relay block and junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  19. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (IGCT-D) 

  20. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [09/2013 - ] 
  21. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]
