EV System Indicator Malfunction [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2013 - ] .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (EV SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2013 - ] .
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      EV System Indicator EV system Indicator MIN, -50, 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 or MAX (%) The MAX value is indicated when 200, 300, 400 and MAX is selected.

      OK

      EV system indicator indication is normal.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (EV SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2013 - ] .
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      EV System Indicator EV system indicator value / Min.: -512 %, Max.: 511 % -512 to 511 % -

      OK

      EV system indicator value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as EV system indicator indication.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] .

      OK

      The operation of the EV system indicator returns to normal.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] 
  6. GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] 
  7. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] 
  8. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]
