Headlight Relay Circuit [09/2013 - ]: Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (H-LP RELAY)
- Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2013 - ]
.MAIN BODY
Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Headlight Relay Low beam headlight relay ON/OFF - OK
Headlight relay operates (low beam headlights come on).
NG → See step 2
OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
- Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2013 - ]

- INSPECT HEADLIGHT RELAY (H-LP)
- Remove the headlight relay from the No. 2 motor compartment room relay block and junction block.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 - 5 Battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω 3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher 3 - 4 Battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher 3 - 4 Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
NG → REPLACE HEADLIGHT RELAY (H-LP)
OK: Go to next step
- Remove the headlight relay from the No. 2 motor compartment room relay block and junction block.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT RELAY [H-LP] - BATTERY)
- Remove the headlight relay from the No. 2 motor compartment room relay block and junction block.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Remove the headlight relay from the No. 2 motor compartment room relay block and junction block.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT RELAY [H-LP] - MAIN BODY ECU)
- Remove the headlight relay from the No. 2 motor compartment room relay block and junction block.
- Disconnect the E15 main body ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Headlight relay terminal 2 - E15-20 (HRLY) Always Below 1 Ω E15-20 (HRLY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 5
