Speed Signal Circuit [12/2013 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (INPUT VOLTAGE)
- Disconnect the G1 combination meter assembly connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

If any of the ECUs specified in the wiring diagram supplies power to the combination meter assembly, the combination meter assembly will output a waveform.

OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the G1 combination meter assembly connector.
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT VOLTAGE)
- Reconnect the G1 combination meter assembly connector.
- Disconnect the A41 skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (INPUT WAVEFORM)
- Check the input waveform.
- Reconnect the A41 skid control ECU connector.
- Remove the combination meter assembly with the connector(s) still connected.
- Connect an oscilloscope to terminal G1-40 (SI) and body ground.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn a wheel slowly.
- Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.

The waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.
HINT:
When the system is functioning normally, one wheel revolution generates 4 pulses. As the vehicle speed increases, the width indicated by (A) in the illustration narrows.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the G1 combination meter assembly connector.
- Disconnect the A41 skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
- Disconnect the 3B junction connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
- Inspect for a short in the circuit that is connected to the junction block connector shown in the wiring diagram.
HINT:
If voltage is not present, it is possible that an ECU or circuit has a malfunction. The malfunctioning ECU or circuit will be diagnosed in the following steps.
- Disconnect the 3A junction connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
