DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Turn signal lights for one side do not illuminate. A
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate. B
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate. C
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate. D

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G3 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G3-13 (LL) - 3B-24 Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G3-7 (LR) - 3B-25 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G3-13 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G3-7 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK B

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A7*1 or A8*2 front turn signal light connector.
      • *1: for RH
      • *2: for LH
    2. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A8-1 - 3C-28 Always Below 1 Ω
      A8-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A7-1 - 3C-38 Always Below 1 Ω
      A7-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A8-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the M6*1 or M5*2 rear turn signal light connector.
      • *1: for RH
      • *2: for LH
    2. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M5-5 (B) - 3D-18 Always Below 1 Ω
      M5-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M6-5 (B) - 3D-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      M6-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M5-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M6-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    A → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H7*1 or J7*2 outer rear view mirror assembly connector.
      • *1: for RH
      • *2: for LH
    2. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J7-2 (B) - 3B-38 Always Below 1 Ω
      J7-9 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H7-2 (B) - 3B-39 Always Below 1 Ω
      H7-9 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J7-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H7-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3B-25 - 3C-38 Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-25 - 3D-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-25 - 3B-39 Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-24 - 3C-28 Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-24 - 3D-18 Always Below 1 Ω
      3B-24 - 3B-38 Always Below 1 Ω
