DTC P2769: Short in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit (Shift Solenoid Valve SL); DTC P2770: Open in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit (Shift Solenoid Valve SL) [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-3 (SL) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - 11/2016]  Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the wiring harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-3 (SL) - C2-6 (SL) Always Below 1 Ω
      C1-3 (SL) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C2-6 (SL) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL) 
    1. Remove the wiring harness connector from the transaxle.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Wire)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-6 (SL) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - 11/2016]  Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL 
    1. Remove shift solenoid valve SL.

      *1 Shift Solenoid Valve SL
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Solenoid Connector (SL) - Solenoid Body (SL) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - 08/2014]  Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2014 - 11/2016]  Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ]
