Replacement [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  2. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER LINER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  4. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 
    1. Remove the refill plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle assembly.

    2. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

    3. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube
      *a Hexagon Socket Wrench
      *b Overflow Plug Hole
    4. Drain the automatic transaxle fluid from the automatic transaxle assembly.
    5. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube
      *a Hexagon Socket Wrench
      *b Overflow Plug Hole

      Torque: 0.8 N*m (8 kgf*cm, 7 in.*lbf) 

    6. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the gasket and overflow plug to the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Reuse the old gasket as the overflow plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

    7. Temporarily install the gasket and refill plug to the automatic transaxle assembly.

      HINT: 

      Reuse the old gasket as the refill plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  6. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 73 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 73

  7. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the automatic transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the transaxle case sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the automatic transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the transaxle housing.

  9. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal LH to the automatic transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09316-10010 
      • SST: 09950-70010 
        1. 09951-07100

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the front drive shaft oil seal LH is installed in the correct direction.
      • Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal LH lip.
    2. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal LH with MP grease.
  10. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new front drive shaft oil seal RH to the automatic transaxle assembly.

      • SST: 09316-60011 
        1. 09316-00011

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the front drive shaft oil seal RH is installed in the correct direction.
      • Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal RH lip.
    2. Coat the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.
  11. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  12. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2013 - ]

  13. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2016 - ] 

  14. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75

  15. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 77 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 77

  16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 81 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 81
