DTC P160F-00: Charging Control System [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CHARGING SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result Proceed to
      Charging system DTCs are not output A
      Charging system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CHARGING SYSTEM.  Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - ] .

    Result: 

    Go to next step 

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTC.

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Clear DTCs 

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    Go to next step 

  3. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Trouble Codes 

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P160F00 is not output A
      DTC P160F00 is output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK.  Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] .

    Result: 

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU.  Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] .
